21st century: An era of gain or loss ?

By: Shashank Kumar

Gone are those days when we used to sit with our family and enjoy talking with them. Gone are those days when we siblings used to spend time playing all stupid games and live those moments. Gone are those days when we had to  persuade our father to take us on a bicycle ride and we used to live every moments of those. Gone are those glorious moments that have become just a memory, a memory that we will remember till our last breath. How ? How did we change so quickly? What brought this change in our lives ?

We have a one word answer to all these questions. Technology.  Undoubtedly Technology is very much essential so as we don't fall behind others.  But what is the use of such a technology if it creates a wall of awkwardness amongst our family. Smartphones ,PC's and laptops are the gifts of advancement of Technology. These are also the weapons that are the bricks for this awkwardness. We are using this technology at a very high cost and that's our family's love.

What are the consequence of our love for technology ? Now-a-days we don't sit with our family and in many cases avoid them. During holidays, we siblings sit  together yet are very far from being together. Father's bicycle ride is replaced by our motorbike ride with friends.  We are trying to live those moments that are meant to fade away one day or the other. Instead of wasting our time in mobiles and laptops , if we  give that time to our family, then we will really live every moment of them. If we don't control these then a time might come when all we will have is the memory from our past and the feeling that will be with us will be regret. If we don't control our actions, no other can.

  4. Change is perhaps inevitable, but we do seek eternity in those loving exchanges, which perhaps is not possible , coz we have forgotten our eternal relationship with our eternal mother and father. Let's chant the glories of holy name, and re-establish that lost eternal connection.
