ISRO: India's Pride

1959 , though it seems just a number, it's much more than that. On 13th Sept 1959, Soviet Union became the first nation to land its spacecraft on the surface of  The  Moon.  Since then, many nations have tried to reach Moon, but only a few could. Nations like  Russia, China, US, Japan, France, Germany, UK and many more have spent Billions of Dollars but only few were successful. From all these expeditions one thing was clear, "The Earth's Mightiest" were ready to explore the space.

When all these expeditions around the world was at it's full pace, a new Space Agency was making it's way, " Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) ". ISRO successfully launched Rohini satellite with the help of SLV-3 thus announcing it's arrival to the world. The Indian Space Agency ISRO was busy planning it's own that in time would shock the World. During the 80's and 90's period, it successfully launched many rockets with satellites carrying communication and observation systems in the Earth's orbit. With the commencement of a new century, new ideas and missions were under process which included Project Moon and Mars.

The Chandrayaan-1 was the first lunar mission that was launched in Oct. 2008. This mission drew the attention of entire World. Many were shocked, proud, and even to some extent jealous, because India achieved what they could not. This was a message to the world that India was not to be easily outmatched and was ready for everything.

You can read all about Chandrayaan-1 at ISRO : First Lunar Mission.

In 2014, India became the first nation to make it to the Mars on the very first attempt. If that was not enough to shock the world, this mission was completed at the mere cost of $74m which is much less than the production of many Hollywood movies. India was ready to compete with the world and that too at a very less cost and without any foreign help.

Then came the year 2019. When whole world was on it's feet feeling all kinds of emotions after watching Avengers: Endgame, Indian Space Agency ISRO  was on it's final stages of yet another MOON mission, CHANDRAYAAN-2. This was launched on 22nd July 2019( previously dated : 14th July) after overcoming all of it's issues. The mission cost about Rs.924 crores, which is very less compared to what Hollywood movies take to make. The mission was partially successful because the VIKRAM Lander could not make the expected landing to the surface of the Moon.

There was a time when Indian agency would take help of other nations to complete any of it's satellite launch mission but the time has changed completely now. Other nation seeks out for ISRO to successfully plant it's own satellites. Recently ISRO successfully launched many other satellites including one Indian 'spy' satellite and 9 foreign satellites.

All of this was possible because of our genius and hardworking Scientists. These are the real Heroes of our nation and make India proud . These are the people that make India a nation worthy of everything. These are the ones that make India what it is now, "A Space Super Power".
